Frequently asked questions

  1. If we awarded a matching grant but find out that the cost of 50% of the services is more than we can afford, are we obligated to pursue the project?

No, there is no obligation to pursue the grant. If selected, we will set up an initial consultation call to discuss your needs. A detailed estimate of the total cost of services will follow, at which time you can decide if half of that cost is feasible. If it is not, we can work with you to prioritize your most urgent needs and revise the estimate from there.

  2. Can we secure other funding to cover the cost of the match? What help can you provide with this?

For sure! Leveraging a matching grant is a great way to approach donors and sponsors about contributing to your remaining project costs. We will help provide guidance and documentation in order to approach your donors.

  3. What does the grant not cover?

The matching grant does not cover mode-of-delivery expenses such as printing, postage, hosting, video production, etc.

  4. If I am awarded a grant, will I receive a check for the grant amount?

No. Matching grants provide services at a discounted cost so you will receive the grant amount in the form of services rendered.

  5. What is the time frame or deadline to complete the work by?

Projects are expected to begin within two to three weeks of receiving the award and completed within three to five months. However, this is dependent on the scope of the project so timelines may vary.
